We like staying at the Lord Byron, we like the location as it's a nice walk into Cambridge and Grantchester which is lovely.Breakfast was nice and the staff where lovely. We will always stay there, but we where in Room 2 and in the early hours every night someone was stomping around a room above us. This morning at 2.30, the noise was unbelievable as in somebody moving furniture etc and dropping stuff on the floor. I don't know if staff live above the Annexe, but if they do they need to consider the people below. It would be interesting to hear if anyone else has had this happen to them ?

Stayed overnight to meet up with friends. It was super friendly with, staff very helpful and made you feel welcome. Very comfy beds and lovely breakfast. We also had an evening meal which we thoroughly enjoyed. Would definitely recommend.

Up to standard as usual no problems

Very good stay thank you.We were in room 3 and found that it has been converted to a bathroom wet room since we had stayed before.We would choose not to have this room again as the shower water did not drain properly and we found the water had spread quite a long way across the bathroom room by the time we had finished using the shower. As a lot of the floor took a long time to dry it made the shower room quite damp.For info, the shower head leaks when in use and the sink tap could do with allowing a bit more water to flow through.The beds are very comfortable, the tv a good size and a nice choice of drinks with good size mugs.An excellent breakfast and very pleasant staff.We will definitely stay again.

We had a good stay at The Lord Byron Inn our room was clean, the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. The Inn is in a great position close to the Trumpington park and ride in Cambridge and all of the staff that we met were excellent and very welcoming.

Really nice pub, if a little difficult to find. Lovely room, no complaints at all. Typical evening pub menu, but very well done. Could not fault the fish or the steak pie dishes. Good breakfast. Highly recommended for a short stay in Cambridge.

Booked two rooms for one night ( Wed/ Thursday). Booking was easy and on the phone very polite and helpful.Rooms were ready on arrival,both very comfortable with all facilities.Booked evening meal and breakfast both of which were very good.Would use again and recommend.

For those who like to moan about the Lord Byron's rooms being a little tired, we'd say, just look at the price you've just paid for a largeish room with car parking and a cooked breakfast in and around Cambridge. The LB is a great option for seeing the city and the fact it has precious parking and good transport connections nearby is even better.The LB's food offer is good too and plenty of good local beers.

Outside a little tired, food was good, room basic but clean, good size bed, lovely breakfast all staff were friendly, accommodating and helpful, especially the kitchen staff and Harry and good real ales, would recommend

A very warm welcome from the staff on arrival. Shown where our room was. We decided to have a meal at the Inn and very nice it was too. Great choice of beers and ciders. Our room wasWarm and clean with a large bathroom. Bedroom had a large TV with air conditioning to warm the room. Also had tea and coffee making facilities. We had 2 wonderful nights stay. Beds comfortable. Bar staff very friendly staff. Meals cook to perfection. Breakfast cooked fresh to order abd plenty of fresh tea and coffee.

We received the warmest of welcomes on arrival, in a very timely manner. First impressions, therefore, were excellent. Our room was lovely - clean, tidy and a reasonable size with adequate storage space for our luggage. The en-suite bathroom was clean, with nice toiletries supplied.We decided to dine at the Lord Byron Inn on our first evening there. The food was exceptionally good, both my husband and I were very impressed with the quality, choice, and presentation of our meals. We received excellent service throughout the evening, and felt very relaxed there. A minor issue with the bill was resolved without any quibble, which just added to our satisfaction with this lovely Inn. Breakfast was excellent, again with fabulous service. After a day in the city of Cambridge, we decided to eat at the Lord Byron again. Another great decision, as again the quality of our meals was superb. Breakfast was just as good the following morning.We left the Lord Byron Inn after our 2 night stay, feeling that we had found a little gem. We would certainly recommend it, without hesitation. We are already thinking of staying there again in 2025, as it is located in a really convenient spot, close to the park and ride for Cambridge, so it really does tick every box for us.

The building itself is a bit worn and in need of some tlc but that doesn’t take away from the lovely staff, great food and excellent service and value for money

This is a really nice pub with rooms, just outside Cambridge. The rooms were very comfortable and clean, the breakfast was ample and well cooked and the dinner at night was excellent.The staff were all very friendly and did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable.The pub was a 5 min walk from the bus stop that took us straight into Cambridge without having to deal with the Cambridge trafficI would thoroughly recommend it.

What a warm welcome! Rooms were scrupulously clean, warm and comfy, and quiet.Our evening meal was excellent, and we were very well looked after by Sigma and Harry.We will be back.

This is our third stay at the Lord Byron while visiting family. It’s a lovely pub with a warm atmosphere, helpful staff, comfortable rooms. Good, reasonably priced bar menu and convenient for Cambridge. We’ll be back again!

The staff were friendly, professional and very helpful. The food was very good. The only downside of the accommodation was the lack of black out curtains. The light outside of no 5 was very bright and kept us awake most of the night.

We booked an overnight stay as my husband had an earlyappointmentatthe RoyalPapworth.The staff were friendly and efficient, especiallygettingour breakfast in double quick time.Place is a bit shabby but very clean. The bed was verycomfy although some new pillows would be good. The food was very good.

We enjoyed a one night stay at the Lord Byron. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Room comfortable and clean. We ate in the bar in the evening there was a good choice on the menu, with very good service. The breakfast had basic choices of cooked food but was freshly cooked and enjoyable. Good value for money.

Nice people, good room and breakfast. The inn itself is rather old and needs some maintenance. A 4 km walk to the centre or 4 busses per hour.

I must admit, when I pulled up the place looked like it needed some TLC (after speaking to the staff the previous owners put profit over people, the new owners are passionate about making people happy, providing good food, ale and accommodation)As soon as I walked into the pub I felt a sense of homeliness . All staff were welcoming but most importantly they had time for you as a person and not just a customer.If you like real ale it's a must to visit.They have an extensive menu but still offer specials. The food was freshly cooked and very nice, as was the breakfast.The accommodation was spot on, clean, relaxing and the beds were comfortable.

We stayed for two nights. The room was clean. The pub is very convenient for the Park and Ride into Cambridge. The evening meal was excellent.

Excellent staff, so welcoming and friendly. The breakfast team were also really friendly and helpful.Food was really good. We can recommend the pies as they were delicious.Rooms were clean and comfy although the shower was pretty weak.I know it was October but the hanging baskets and the garden needed some attention. They spoilt what was a lovely looking old pub.Overall an enjoyable stay.Thank you.

We had a fine stay at your hotel. I'm really thankful about your support and help for our Check-in. It was late, as we arrived in Cambridge,but all worked well. A good place to stay for easy access to Cambridge. Clean comfortable,air conditioned double bedroom with tv and tea and coffee facilities.We received a warm welcome and all the staff were friendly polite and very helpful with advice given about the local area places to go and where to find the buses, park and ride etc.The breakfast was fresh local produce and cooked to order with plenty of choicevery nice.The pub menu although limited has plenty for everyone and our meals were hot and delicious.I would happily recommend the Lord Byron Inn and hopefully stay there again on our next visit to Cambridgeshire.

Stayed for one night on the way to Durham to break the journey. Great steak pie for supper and quiet night in room across the courtyard from the pub. Good cooked breakfast was included in the rate. Will go again.

The room was comfortable but basic. The decoration was a little outdated and overall the room, much like the pub and grounds, required some TLC. Nevertheless everything worked; the shower was powerful and hot, and the bed was comfortable. We slept soundly. The room was cleaned whilst we were out during the day and the tea coffee and complimentary biscuits were replenished (an unexpected bonus). The full English breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive. The pub served some excellent beers and their main meals were great. Location was excellent - 30mins walk into town or a very easy bus ride. Look beyond appearances and this is a great place to stay.

Good selection of real ale in the bar and well kept.Rooms hadvery comfortable beds.Showers worked well.Breakfast food andservice excellent but no breakfast bags for early departing guests .Only issue is that no facility to buy drinks after 22.45 even if a resident.Not sure why the bar closes so early.I would definitely go back and can heartily recommendthis place.

The main building now is blue, but it fits in this place. The check-in didn‘t take long time, the men in the service are very friendly.As it had been raining all day long, we were very thankful to get a good dinner in house. The good music fits to the good beer.The room was clean and tidy; already the tables need to be cleaned well.

We have just stayed here for 3 nights 19th-22nd September and we really enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious and comfortable ideal for short stays with housekeeping daily and towels changed on request which was really good. Breakfast was plentiful and deliciously served by Raymond who couldn’t do enough for you. The pub/ restaurant was also really nice comfortable place to enjoy a drink, with the good choice menus serving delicious food and the sticky toffee pudding is to die for!We were looked after really well by Harry the co bar manger who went above and beyond to make our stay so pleasant even though he was so busy, nothing was too much trouble. (hang on to him guys) all in all a lovely few days with no hesitation to stay again in the future.

Lovely attentive check in staff , free parking, clean and tidy rooms, good breakfast.It is at a pub , but the rooms are a good distance from the main buy so are quiet. Theres a bus into Cambridge and it’s a £8 Uber back..

We really enjoyed a lovely relaxing break. The rooms situated outside of the property were a bonus as no stairs or lift to have to use. The room was very clean with a very comfortable bed. . We were surprised to have it tidied everyday for the price. Food was excellent and all the staff were friendly and professional.The location was great for the Park and Ride and made it so easy to get to and around Cambridge rather than use the car.

We stayed for 2 Nights in The Inn. They offer good pub Food and local Beers. The Bus to Cambridge City Center departure every 10 Minutes. Also Great was the walk back along the River Cam in 1,5 Hours. Of the weather is good you can sit in the lovely Beer Garden.

Ideal stop on our journey. Comfortable bed , hot shower and controllable heating which was lovely as weather had turned chilly.Excellent breakfast with fantastic service .Left our car for a few hours whilst looked around Cambridge very good for bus into town and back.

This Inn is located about a 30 minute walk from the center of Cambridge. But nearby you can use the P&R bus to go to the center (you can buy tickets from the driver). Very friendly and hospitable staff. We enjoyed high-quality delicious meals and the English breakfast. And you can choose from many tasty beers on tap. The Inn has a large beer garden. On one side is the Inn and on the other side a separate building with the rooms. When the weather is nice, locals and guests make a lot of use of the garden. We thought it was a nice location and highly recommended!

My husband and I had a good stay at The Lord Byron Inn. All of the staff that we met were so welcoming, hard working and nothing was too much trouble. We had a very nice evening meal and full English breakfast in the morning.Slept really well in the comfy beds.

We had an enjoyable one night stay and have stayed before. The breakfast was good and we enjoyed our evening meal.The only small point is that it would be an improvement to have a lighter quilt (or sheet and think blanket) during the warmer weather.

Staff are really friendly, and make you feel welcome.Not that far from Cambridge, and there is a park and ride just up the road. If you don't want to take the car into Cambridge. Also your only 10 minutes away to get to the Hospital (Papworth).

Very quiet, charming place, typically English, gemütlich, nice flowered garden, service friendly, helpful and professional, excellent English breakfast, wide choice of local cider and beer from the tap. One small remark: There was a strange smell in the bathroom.

The rooms were lovely and clean, had everything you need for a one night stay. All of the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was included in the price and it was delicious! Good sized full English with vegetarian option if needed with toast, juice and a hot drink. We will definitely be staying again if we are travelling this way

Lovely room and breakfast, friendly staff and pub.

We had room 1, and it was close to our freeparked car. The breakfast was English and good. We did miss fresh baked bread (croissants, etc.) and fresh fruit. To eat every morning eggs, bacon and sausages is not that healthy. The people of the Inn are very friendly and helpfull. The only litle minor thing was loud talking people in the beergarden. Furthermore the centre of Cambridge is about 40 minutes walk. By car it is difficult to find a parking space.Room is fine: good beds and bathroom.

Compliments to the chef and staff. Very friendly, with a touch of humour. The rooms could do with an update however...WiFi at #9 was nearly impossible.Regards

Friendly bar staff with an excellent range of alesFood is excellent with good service, the special pork shoulder and sea bass are well recommended.The rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable.Breakfast sets you up for the day.It's in an excellent location, 5 minutes walk from the PR3 bus route to Cambridge which takes 10 minutes and the bus runs every 10 minutes.There is a roomy car park.Would definitely return.

Great pub, great location, friendly staff and comfortable rooms. Stayed here two nights, rooms are dated but comfortable. The pub is cute and has lots of charm, the beer garden was quite popular during our stay. The staff are attentive, friendly and happy. Breakfast is great and the dinner menu has quite a few options. Highly recommend this place, its not the Ritz but in my opinion well worth it and I would stay here again.

We had a very pleasant stay in the Lord Byron Inn. We arrived late but that was no problem at all.The people working at the pub/inn are very nice. And by bus you are in 15 minutes in the centre of Cambridge. The room was also good.I recommend the Lord Byron Inn!

The accommodation was excellent, comfortable, clean, in a quiet location. The car park was roomy and the pub itself picturesque with a good atmosphere.

We were able to check in early, which was great. Our room was clean and the beds comfortable. Breakfast was the highlight - filling and a lovely cup of tea! the lady who served us made our morning.

Quaint place, no frills, typical Old English wayside pub. Service was excellent helpful and smiling. Quiet room, comfortable bed with separate duvets. The room and bathroom not in top condition but clean and there was what you needed. Good English breakfast. For what it was shabby chic we will give 5 stars.

We have just spent two nights at The Lord Byron Inn while attending clinic at Papworth hospital and found the room very clean and comfortable, the staff very friendly and helpful, the landlady very welcoming. The food was excellent we had the sea bass for dinner and a delicious full English breakfast well cooked and piping hot. A really lovely stay

Been before and always enjoyed our stay. Comfy beds, clean cosy rooms with tea,coffee,chocolate and biscuits. Four of us had a super evening meal….would have had another on Saturday but had already booked elsewhere before we traveled. Super breakfast set us up for the day. All staff fantastic.

A typical English pub, with a new block of 9 rooms for accommodation. The large ensuite rooms were clean and well maintained, and had a heater and air conditioning. They are in a new separate block to the main building. Breakfast is served in the main building and was excellent, freshly cooked and with a good choice and attentive service. Great bus connections into the city centre within a 5 minute walk from the inn. The Lord Byron is a great value option for staying on the outskirts of Cambridge

Rooms basic, but very clean beds are very comfortablee. Staff go the extra mile to make your stay comfortable. Breakfasts are up there with the best I’ve had anywhere in the northern hemisphere. Definitely a place to recommend.

We staid 2 nights, the room had a large bedand a shower and toilet. The room was adequate and we felt it was value for money.

The staff were very welcoming, friendly and attentive. The location suited us very well, with easy access to Cambridge centre, the Fitzwilliam and the Botanical gardens via the Park and Ride. Also a five minute drive to Grantchester and the countryside. Excellent dinner. Thank you. Bathroom clean but a little run down.

The rooms are very tired looking as is the overall Pub, car park and garden, that said our rooms were spotlessly clean .Tea, coffee, hot chocolate andkettle in the rooms .Beds were very comfortable and aircon/ heating in rooms.Breakfast was included and was of a very good standard, plentiful and the two ladies that served us in the morning were lovely and couldn’t do enough for us .We had an evening meal and loved it .We would definitely stay here again.

Needed to stay over to be near Addenbrookes and this hotel was ideally suited.Room was satisfactory but was a little tired and in need up updating.

Excellent stay at The Lord Byron, a pub with alot of character and history. We stayed for 4 nights and we found it very convenient for the City Centre( bus stop for P&R 2mins away with buses every 10 mins). The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, the rooms were clean and quite spacious, breakfast was perfectly cooked and the choice of evening meal was great, very reasonably priced, large portions and 5* taste!!!Memorable stay

This was my second stay and I am more than happy to leave a good review. Rooms are basic but have all I need on business - clean, good WiFi, quiet and ensuite facilities.Staff are friendly and welcoming and both the included breakfast and evening meals in the pub are good quality and well cooked.Providing you book expecting good, clean basic accommodation and a warm welcome with great food, you'll not be disappointed.

Old main building with very low ceilings. I'm 1.90h and could walk straight. Building with rooms is from a much later date and meets all requirements. Nice stay to experience Cambridge.

We had a lovely two nights at the Lord Byron Inn. It is very handy for the park and ride and also well situated for exploring the area by foot.The breakfast is excellent and sets you up for the day.

Have srayed at the byron on many occasions now and have yet to find fault clean good food, friendly staff, and jot a bossy owner in sight.pleasure to stay here and look forward to many more visits.

Lovely hotel. The rooms were clean with a super large bed. We had a freshly cooked breakfast with proper orange juice. Good value for money and would certainly recommend.

A fantastic small inn with lots of charm and character. Good location not too far from Cambridge, Grantchester etc. Room are not overly frivolous but that ought to not matter because they are only a place to sleep.Staff are very friendly and attentive. Would definitely stay again.

I am so pleased I found The Lord Byron Inn on Booking.com.I was travelling with my Mother for a visit to Addenbrooke's.The Inn was within easy distance of the hospital.The rooms were really comfortable, with a lovely ensuite shower room. The welcome at The Inn was very warm and the barman (sorry, I don't know his name), was very informative and happy to give recommendations on the menu. The evening meal and setting within the pub was fantastic. Unfortunately, we were unable to stay for breakfast, as we had an early start. All-in-all, I would definitely book here again and would highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay. The food was great, compliments to the chef for a really tasty steak.The beds were very comfortable and the room lovely and clean.All the staff were very kind and helpful.

Only reason I'm knocking one star off is because on arrival all the doors were locked. After getting the pubs attention I was greeted by a rude woman. Fortunately the staff in the morning were delightful and the breakfast was excellent. I'd planned to have a meal and a drink in the pub but I was put off by how dismissive the rude woman was. The room was excellent.

We travel from Worcestershire regularly to Addenbrookes Hospital for treatment and usually stay at The Lord Byron Inn. Their home cooked food is amazing, staff are very caring and the rooms are scrupulously clean.Lovely stay

a lovely little pub with adjoining accommodation. Perfect for Addenbrookes or even into the town centre as it is only a few minutes walk from the park and ride. Rooms are good with a table, a couple of chairs, small wardrobe/cupboard and a huge bed. The bathroom is big, obviously built with the complex and not just a tiny little facility squeezed in as an afterthought as many do. The free WiFi was useful and a pleasant surprise was free streaming channels.The breakfast was adequate but a limited menu, but as it caters for a total of 8 rooms only, logical. We found all the staff pleasant and helpful.If you intend to stay here, I would advise booking early, I'm sure people who have used it once will return, I know we certainly will.many thanks and I wish you a successful 2024

Myself and my sister in law stayed at the Lord Byron. We were met with smiles, very welcoming. The bar is lovely and has old charm. The room only a few steps away was spotlessly clean, warm and beds comfy and pillows, we slept well. Great spot to leave car and jump on a bus in to the City. We had a meal booked in the evening, good options and great food, we ended up having 3 courses. Breakfast was amazing and staff wonderful. It was a great stay and 100% we will return. 5 stars all day long

We have often stayed at the Lord Byron in recent years, and have always enjoyed our time there, hence our return. This time we were in the separate double studio, and whilst everyone we met and talked to were as helpful as possible the basic problem was that we couldn't heat the room on our first night because, apart from one small radiator, we couldn't make other devices work: the bathroom heater (although it turned out to need 10 minutes to heat up we were told later) and the air conditioning (which was made to work after we raised our concerns after a very cold night). And it was a subzero night...Although it was fixed for our second night we arrived late on the first one and didn't want to raise the issue with staff at that time, so suffered as a result. However we would say that it was handled very well by your people, although it's obvious that you really ought to have clear written heating instructions, at least for that room. To cap it all the TV didn't work at all during our visit, although your staff looked at. Finally we would have expected a discount, given our experience, as we have often received when on rare occasions this has happened at hotels and restaurants. But we will come and stay again!

We visited from Greece and spent 8 nights at the Inn. Everything was perfect: booking was correct, check-in was speedy and efficient and our stay was made most enjoyable by the friendliness of the staff, particularly the team who served breakfast.We dined in on several evenings and the pub food was varied. Our room was warm and serviced daily. Hot water was available at all times. All in all an excellent stay and very good value.Can highly recommend.

The rooms are motel style, a very basic one room with large bathroom.Quite a dull room on first impression but there is everything you need.Kettle and refreshments, tv, hair dryer, heater/aircon and good Wi-Fi.Beds quite old and well used but comfortable.Small shower and plenty of hot water.It was very quiet during the night.Breakfast is in the main bar and an excellent freshly cooked full English with accompaniments.The pub/hotel is walking distance from a large supermarket and the park & ride into Norwich.It is not a fancy place to stay and the price reflects this and is at the right level.Well worth staying here for a few nights.We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed overnight as we were flying out of Stansted airport the following day. Staff were pleasant and helpful throughout our stay, from arriving at reception to leaving the following morning. Nothing was too much trouble. Accommodation is in a separate annex. Our room was very clean, with a very comfortable kingsized bed. The inn itself retains many of its original features, and has a good selection of ales. Food was nicely cooked and very tasty. the steak and ale pie I had, must have contained a whole 8oz fillet steak! If we're ever in the Cambridge area in future, we will definitely return to The Lord Byron Inn.

We have stayed here many times as it is very convenient to visit old friends nearby. We are always happy with the facilities and service but from a personal point of view I have one complaint. I suffer with arthritis all over my body and I find the beds very hard and painful to lie in. I just wish they would change the mattresses for something more comfortable.

We spent a night here. A very friendly welcome in the evening when we arrived (fairly late) and a very good Full English breakfast the following morning. The room was comfortable and the TV included iPlayer which was a nice surprise.The only reason for dropping a star is that we were unfortunate to have no hot water in the morning which was a significant inconvenience. The immediate response of the staff could have been better. However the Inn has since made it up to us.

However, we had a really lovely breakfast the following morning after a very comfortable night sleep. This is the second time we've staying at the Lord Byron Inn. The room we stayed in is in a line of rooms outside the main building with a covered walk way outside the door, this means you can come and go without going into the pub.breakfast is good inside the main building and if you want to eat at niht the food is really good.The staff are really helpful,friendly and on the ball all the time.It's just a great place to base yourself if your in the Cambridge area and would stay again.

Our room was on the ground floor. It was very nice, clean and comfortable. That was part of the end. Was really good. Excellent food. The meat pie was absolutely delicious. Helpful and pleasant staff. On sight parking was plentiful. They served the delicious breakfast. The had everything from toast to the full English breakfast, on with yogurt, cereal and such.Location was excellent for Grantchester (a short easy walk) and the Cambridge park and ride. We would stay there again, if the opportunity arose.

Basic room but had everything we needed and beds were super comfy and food was excellent with friendly and helpful staff . We stayed in room 3 which was for disabled although we are fit and able it was the only room available for the 2 nights we required tap in bathroom was extremely hard to turn on and off and needs replacing. It was very clean but towels a bit scratchy

A lovely and welcoming hotel/pub. The lady booking us in and serving us later was very helpful and looked after our every need. The landlady was most kind in helping during our stay. The room was great and the beds were comfortable. The food was superb and all home cooked. All in all it was a lovely stay and we will return.

The Lord Byron Inn gave us exactly what I was looking for, a roof over our heads and a comfy bed to recover ready for the long drive back home the next day. The breakfast was a welcome bonus as most other rooms I looked at didn't include it, we requested a breakfast to go as an early start was planned and a breakfast sandwich was ready as soon as the eating area was opened and it was delicious 😀

The room at the Lord Byron was well equipped with tea and coffee making facilities. The en-suite was spacious with a good walk-in shower. The “Full English” breakfast was excellent, using quality ingredients.

We chose the Lord Byron because it is on a direct bus route to Cambridge town centre .The Lord Byron’s accommodation was verycleanwith all we needed to enjoy our stay, the outlook from the room was a very pleasant garden.The breakfast was fine with the usual offering of cereal ,juices, full Englishwith all the options on tea and coffee.The staff went out of their way to make sure all was well with our stay. Stayed for one night on the way north,dinner was acceptable at the price and served with a smile .Room was comfortable and finished to a good standard with the only complaint being that the wi fi signal was poor, breakfast was good served by a couple of cheery girls and plenty on our plates .Would I stay again absolutely.The owner is a character whom I enjoyed talking too

10/10 for the Lord Byron. All the staff were friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. Ample parking. We had a good meal in the pub. ( Vegan options were a little limited). Breakfast was served in the pub and really hit the spot! I chose muesli followed my 2 poached eggs on toast - eggs were cooked to perfection.It is a short drive out of the city and therefore quiet surroundings meaning a good night’s sleep was had.We will definitely be back. Adequate for one night stay

From the time we checked in to the time we checked out, we received a warm welcome, a lovely breakfast where the staff were very helpful and friendly. Good room with it's own entrance, a big bonus. Parking on site and a short walk to a bus stop, taking you into the centre of Cambridge. Great location.

The welcome was very friendly, the room has everything you need for one or two nights, the connection to C-bridge City Center is very good, pub and breakfast (Server, no bufet) can be recommended too. Nice surrounding. I would stay there again.

All of the crew members we met were very friendly and helpful. Our room was in the annex off the pub garden, but connected to the pub by a covered walkway - handy as it rained in the morning for breakfast. Beds gave good support and were comfortable, bathroom basic and clean but served its purpose. I could not find on the website a menu, but it is quite extensive and varied. we had Steak & Ale Pie and Braised Beef with mustard mash and fresh vegetables - both were exceptionally delicious. There were 3 real ale Beer at the, again excellent - and a range of other tap beers and bottles and good range of spirits and soft drinks. Its an old quaint main building and mind your head on the low ceilings.All in all a good value stopover.

Pleasant stay but I found the room 10 noisy with the road right next to it.The breakfast team are are real credit and go the extra mile, always a friendly service and giving mefood to take away as I was rushing off to work

Friendly and attentive staff. The Lord Byron is situated on a main bus route into Cambridge so no need for extra parking costs. The room was very clean and breakfast set us up for the day ahead. The shower in our room wasn’t very powerful but given the very competitive pricing for our stay it was manageable.If we were to visit Cambridge again we would stay at the Lord Byron again.

I stayed in room 3 for 2 nights. I chose this location for ground floor access and air conditioning. AC didn't work but thankfully I didn't need it.Room was lovely and clean, nice smell (not over powering). Toilet had minor cistern issue and took long time to fill, noise didn't bother me but may need to be checked. TV was a great size (some places have such tiny TV screens which are far away or in an awkward corner).As a single female my only concern with the room was that the door had a chain but nowhere to connect it to the door (it was on the frame, but the door part was absent), and the window opens in such a way that someone could climb in if they wanted to. I kept the window closed as the temp was cool and felt safe with chair in front of door, so no issues but it could be improved with different window style and a fully usable door chain.Pub was great for breakfast and dinner (I had 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners during my stay).Staff were amazing, especially the ladies at breakfast and the bartender (male, not sure of his name).Overall I rate 4/5 and would come again.

The room we stayed was warm and quiet,the beds were very comfortable so we had a really good nights rest,the breakfast was good in the morning with a good choice, the staff were very friendly and helpful,we found it good value and will definitely stay again

As always and very pleasant and comfortable 2 nights at the Lord Byron with a good hearty breakfast to start the day. I have stayed at the L.B at this time of year 4 times pre and post covid but during the covid year of 2021 i delayed my visit to july and it was still up to the standard i expected

We stayed here for two nights with two friends from Australia . They were impressed by the olde worlde charm of the pub and the friendly staff , especially those who served the excellent breakfast . We were all satisfied with the accomodation .

We always visit Cambridge after Christmas and this year decided not to return to the hotel we normally use - when we looked around the Lord Byron seemed to fit the bill for our 2-night stay.The pub is great - lovely old building, friendly staff and good food.A few steps away (under cover) is the block with rooms, our double room had a massive bed, tv, tea/coffee and ample wardrobe space.The shower in the airy en suite wasn't quite as forceful as I prefer, although perfectly adequate.We got a taxi to/from Cambridge (£9-£13 each way depending on time) and there is also the park & ride at Trumpington which we have used in the past.Really enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back.

Location was perfect for Papworth Hospital. The room was warm quiet and comfortable. The English breakfast was superb with good quality ingredients. The staff are friendly and helpful. Visiting Cambridge city centre was very easy with the park and ride located just a short walk away. We would not hesitate booking the Lord Byron again.

Booked and stayed here for 1 night. Room was with breakfast and then we also had an evening meal. It was a cold night but the room was nice and warm, with an additional heater placed in it. The evening meal in the main bar area was nice, although the Sticky Toffee Pudding was more Treacle Sponge Pudding. It had a fire going but the room was still quite cold. Breakfast the next morning was again of good quality. The staff were all friendly and accommodating.

We only needed to stay one night before a hospital appointment at Royal Papworth the next day. We both said we would have been happy to stay longer if we could. I very warm welcome on arrival the room was warm clean and comfortable.We had a meal in the bar and it was the best meal we have had eating out for a long time, the pie was homemade which is a rarity. A lovey wood burner in the bar always welcome in the winter. A superb breakfast. we will stay again

We had come for a reunion centred around the Steele-Bodgers match at Grange Road. Parked up on arrival at 11.30. Returned at 6.15pm to check-in quick and pleasant welcome, room just what we wanted. Returned at 10.50pm and straight to bed. Had a wonderful night's sleep in a warm and comfortable bed. In the morning after showering and dressing into breakfast. Lovely English breakfast with beautiful sausages served by pleasant and helpful staff who made coffee just how I like it. Easy departure on to the M11.Thank you all.Mike Donnelly

I booked here for a couple of days to allow for some maintenance work to be carried out at home. The studio provided everything necessary during a short stay. The inclusive breakfast offers a wide selection of options.This accommodation is located quite close to a through road, so the sound of traffic is fairly continuous, but fine for short term stays.

We chose the Lord Byron firstly for its location, as we have relatives in Trumpington. We found that the staff were very pleasant, the room that we stayed in was well appointed and clean.The rooms are located in a seperate building off the garden, so we're quiet for our November stay.We will be booking again for our return visit in April.

We have stayed at The Lord Byron many times over the years but this was definitely the best visit.The food was excellent, the accommodation was clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly and efficient.

This ancient inn is in a quiet backwater behind the high street and not far from a major Park and Ride. The pub itself has very low beams (we had to duck to get to the bar) and certain olde worldy charm but is in need of at the very least a new floor. There is a garden with benches, a play area and a fenced pond which I could imagine being very nice in the summer. The new block where the rooms are located are beyond the garden so in winter extremely quiet and peaceful. They are very clean, spacious with most everything you need including a kettle and drinks tray, a large TV and free wifi which seemed OK. The linen was good quality but although comfortable the beds were a little lumpy. The bathroom was huge with a heater and plenty of towels.We were given a warm welcome and assured nothing would be too much trouble. In fact we checked in several hours early with no problem as the room had just been cleaned. Breakfast was excellent in the pub, cooked to order in the morning but it did all seem to come up at once, which meant cold toast. Great for a short stop.

I stayed overnight here whilst visiting on business. Rooms are outside separate from the pub, when I went into the room it was lovely and warm as there was a stand alone radiator which had thoughtfully been put on before my arrival. Good food, good beer and helpful staff. I left something in the room which the staff kindly posted on to me. I will stay again.

Good location to visit Cambridge, good you can leave your car and take the park and ride bus just around the corner. Good basic clean rooms, just the matras is up for replacement. Breakfast and evening food realy nice.

Myself and my friend stayedhere as we were to see Squeeze at.the. Corn. Exchange in the town. Room and shower room spotlessly clean with towels and soaps provided super comfy beds good breakfast menu in what is a lovely Inn with polite and friendly staff I wouldn't think twice about staying again. It always makes a huge difference to a stay when you can see the extra effort has been applied.

We had a pleasant stay for a night. We were checked in early and our accommodation clean, warm and comfortable. Nearby was a lovely river walk to Byron's Pool. Our meal in the pub was good with an interesting mix of beers on tap .

Beds were comfortable but room hadn’t been cleaned properly Bathroom floor was dirty, bathroom bin had not been emptied, room also needs a rethink on positioning of electric sockets. Food was good and all the staff very friendly.

The Great service started before we arrived, we had to go to a family funeral the day we had booked to start our stay. It was difficult to go through booking dot com to change the start date, so I phoned The Lord Byron they contacted them and got a change date in less than 10 minutes. ( we were still in the time allowance to change things for free ).The accommodation is chalet type, which means you can come and go without the need to go into the pub. The rooms are clean, the House cleaning staff are helpful and friendly. As for all the staff we met, they were professional but unlike some places, they still keep warmth and friendliness with their customer service which is great.The food is really good, Homemade pie is made on site, the fish is huge, the breakfast is in the pub in the morning the staff again are friendly, and everything is clean. The outside walkway to the pub from the accommodation is open but has a covered roof and you can sit outside under a large gazebo. Parking is in the pub car park and so is close to the accommodation on flat ground.It's a great place to stay for access to explore the area and would happily stay again.

Good overnight stay at a great price. Food, both breakfast and evening meals were excellent. Comfy bed.My only gripe would be the pillows. The pillowcases weren’t big enough to completely enclose my pillows and the cheap material was hanging out - not attractive and certainly not somewhere I wanted to lie my head (and & face).

Nice two-night stay, breakfast was very good, everything was clean, aircon was a plus as it was very hot when we stayed. Quiet after the beer garden cleared out fairly early.Pub was also a plus. We walked to Grantchester, easy enough.About the only thing that could possibly use an update was the bed.

Second time we have stayed here recently.Very enjoyable stay.Rooms ample in size, comfortable and with a large bathroom.Pub is a traditional British pub, with a good selection of drinks available, including, a range of high-quality gins, 3 real ales on tap and a selection of wines and spirits.Food was generous in portions, and exceedingly good. My wife had an excellently cooked steak, whilst I enjoyed a tasty pasta dish.All following a large sharing fish platter!And the full English breakfast will set you up for the day!!Access to Cambridge centre was exceedingly easy, with a bus every 10 minutes from the end of the street.Don't think about taking a car in to the city!Following the horrendous couple of years the hospitality industry has suffered, it is not surprising that a couple of areas looked, shall we say, a little tired.But, hopefully, now with the industry having a revival, finances for all small hotels, pubs and restaurants should improve.We really enjoyed our two stays and if we come back to Cambridge would have no hesitation instaying here again.

On arrival, we were greeted by a lovely member of staff, she was very knowledgeable of the area and was more than happy to give advice on where to go and the easiest way of travel, predominantly the Park & Ride system in our case. Nothing was too much trouble and we had a lovely time chatting with her later in the evening. Room was clean and comfortable, would definitely stay @ The Lord Byron on our next visit to Cambridge.

Had travelled from Edinburgh to London to drop daughter off to Drama school and choose Cambridge for a stopover on the way back. Glad we did, after a long day the cosy, traditional pub was lovely for a glass of vino. The twin room.. clean and welcoming. The staff were lovely and attentive throughout even though they were busy with a wedding in a marquee in the grounds! Breakfast was great. Overall great value.Accommodation better if window opened, a bit stuffy. For some reason you couldn’t mix and match cooked breakfast as my partner wanted veggie sausages with bacon. Not allowed, don’t know why

Stayed here while visiting the IWM in Duxford as only about 10 minutes drive away. Excellent little place ! Rooms were very clean and comfortable and was very quiet so had a great sleep. Staff were very friendly and food was excellent ! Especially the breakfast ! Price per room is very good too ! Would definately recommend to anyone and would stay again if down this way.

2 nights booked here as my partner had a flight in an old plane, Tiger Moth. Whilst he flew I took a short walk into Cambridge. Lovely accommodation, friendly staff and good food, what more could you ask for?

Our first time at the Lord Byron, so didn't know what to expect. We need not have worried. Friendly, welcoming and helpful staff, excellent food, good booze and clean, comfortable rooms.

It looks old but has air conditioning. The facilities were well maintained and clean.Breakfast was also delicious.We had a very nice dinner at PUB.The people working at the PUB were very friendly and the dinner was enjoyable.I want to have dinner at this PUB again.

We have to visit Cambridge 3 or 4 times a year and have always stayed in character-less chain hotels. Now we've found the Lord Byron we won't be going anywhere else. Great food, well priced and one of the nicest breakfasts we've ever had in a hotel.If, like us, you're visiting Papworth hospital this is perfectly located with the hospital 5 minutes away and multiple EV chargers 2 minutes away. 5*

The Lord Byron is a traditional English pub with a separate building with adjoining guest rooms. The pub is very pretty, the rooms are well equipped, but visually a bit plain and dated and lack the charm of the pub. It was a bit unfortunate that the door and the room window face the pub's garden, so that on the warm summer evening when we slept here, it was quite noisy until about 11:30 pm because pub guests were sitting outside and talking loudly. We had breakfast in the pub and could choose from the breakfast menu, we went for a traditional English breakfast which was very good. The staff were very nice and helpful and the pub is very conveniently located for visiting Cambridge.

Would absolutely recommend this lovely pub & accommodation. Staff really friendly , rooms clean & had all you needed. Would be staying here again if returning to Cambridge.

Our stay at The Lord Byron Inn was a pleasure due to the incredibly helpful and friendly staff and the clean, well equipped rooms. The delicious breakfast was the icing on the cake. If you want comfort and convenience in a perfect location for all of Cambridge's attractions, this place has it all. We definitely recommend partaking of the extensive food menu, too!

The staff were very friendly and the pub had good food.Room was a bit dated, but comfortable. We had a handicap accessible bathroom, so there really was no "shower".It was a shower head coming out of the wall into the open bathroom with a drain in the floor.I didn't care for that, but we made it work.

Great pub, good accommodation and breakfast in a lovely setting, I would stay again, location wise there is good parking and a regular bus service into Cambridge (15 mins or so pending on traffic), with the stop just a couple of minutes walk away.

We had a 3 night stay here and although the room was a bit dated, it was clean and comfortable. The service from the Inn staff was friendly and very helpful.There is a regular bus service into Cambridge city centre close which was very convenient.Staying at this Inn was great value for money and we would stay here again if we come back to Cambridge

No super luxury but what you get is a large comfortable room, fantasticair condition, very comfortable bed and a good breakfast. All in a separate annex in the lovely pub garden.Nice friendly pub and good beers

The site of the inn at Trumpington made for a quieter and more restful stay at Cambridge than choosing one of the city hotels. The staff were delightful - very welcoming and helpful. The accommodation is across the garden from the pub itself, in pleasant chalet rooms. Breakfast was very tasty. Very good value.

We have stayed at the Lord Byron Inn several times in the last year and it's a wonderful place to stay.Excellent staff,wonderful food and comfortable rooms.Trumpington is very near Grantchester and also on an excellent bus route to Central Cambridge if you don't want to drive in. Fantastic breakfast too!

Alan and all the other people at the Lord Byron inn were very helpful and friendly. being a dumb American I asked many questions, and they were happy to answer them. I did not get a full answer on cricket rules. The room was very comfortable and having AC during the hot weather was outstanding. The bar had a wide selection of ciders, and the food was delicious.

We had a clean room. The airconditioning was great even as our Nice big bed, so we slept very well. The breakfast was good, and the staff was friendly.

Lovely staff, in for a chat, slept very well no loud noises. My bed was comfy, from my partner the mattresshad a bit of a hole in it. Breakfast was good, advise would be to use less plastics. Keep up the good work. Value for money really good.

Clean, comfortable rooms.Good food.Friendly, helpful staff.Very convenient location.

Staff gave us a warm welcome, breakfast was served at 07.30am which was a problem as I needed to be at the hospital for that time, they said that's not a problem as they could make us some sandwiches to go. Food was very good as was the accommodation thanks for a lovely stay will use again in the future

This establishment is well located at Trumpington / Grantchester. A Park and Ride is conveniently nearby, as is a Waitrose supermarket and a Shell Petrol station.I had overnight stays at this location on several occasions prior to Covid and it was in serious decline. I was wary when I made the booking and was reassured andimpressed by what was now being offered.The Lord Byron is definitely open for business again. Enthusiastic, helpful staff, comfortable accommodation, an excellent selection of ales and cider. I had an evening meal - there's a good menu - and a breakfast during my stay. The food and service very good.

We stayed here for one night as attending a graduation. Room was clean and functional and the air conditioning unit was very welcome in the 32 degree heat!Breakfast was very good and overall great value.

We LOVE The Lord Byron and we had a marvellous family stay there with three generations. The staff as always were extremely helpful and kind and it made all the difference to an important family reunion and celebration. Thank you so much

This was our second stay at the Lord Byron which we enjoyed as much as the first. The venue is good value for money and everywhere was spotlessly clean. The whole team were welcoming, efficient and friendly and having dropped my wife at Addenbrooks Hospital I was able to check-in early which is always a bonus! The Lord Byron is conveniently located in Trumpington, on the outskirts of Cambridge and access to public transport into the city is easy. Evening meal and breakfast were both well cooked with ample portions. Looking forward to another stay.

The garden rooms are basic but clean however we had to draw managements attention to a missing carpet edge protector between the bedroom and the bathroom. My wife caught her foot on “ a row of proud nails”. A new carpet edge protector was fitted next day. Food was good and all the staff were friendly and efficient. One needs to be careful not to walk into a sequence of “ open windows” when walking from the garden rooms.

Despite being a little dated in the main area it has a character of its own the staff are welcoming and attentive. The rooms are excellent well maintained and comfortable. Food was very good drinks were a bit pricey. The morning breakfast was very taste with something to suit all taste’s. I would recommend a stay here.

On arrival, the staff (I believe his name was Michael) was very pleasant and helpful.Michael was also on duty during our evening meal and could not have been more willing and helpful making our evening there very enjoyable.The food was also excellent.However, the breakfast staff completely let the side down.I ordered 2x eggs, 2x sausages, mushrooms, hash browns, toast, orange juice and coffee with cream on the side.A few moments later, a lady (I assume she was the cook) appeared to sternly tell me that hash browns are only available with the vegetarian breakfast and there was a set number available so I couldn't have them!She seemed to be rather 'put out' that I had ordered individual items and not just the standard ‘Full English Breakfast’.I will say the breakfast was cooked very well.Additionally, I was told there was "no cream served at breakfast" - after complaining that they had cream for my coffee the night before, some cream grudgingly appeared (Note: I am diabetic and milk has a considerable sugar content whereas cream has no sugar).The room was clean and in keeping with the price.However, the 6 inch thick duvet cover on the bed was completely out of place given that we are in the middle of June and the temperature that day reached 29 degrees.I would suggest they change to a much thinner duvet cover in the summer months with an extra blanket in the room if guests require it.In summary, we were very impressed with the food and service the night before and would have given a '5 star' rating had it not been for our breakfast experience!

Stayed overnight here on our way back home from holiday.Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Had our evening meal in the pub which was very good. The pub has it’s own brewery so we sampled some very good beer.Room was very clean and breakfast was good.Would stay again

We arrived at the pub which is so full of character and we were greeted with a warm welcome. Our room was functional but a bit basic and quite cold. We found the heating difficult to use without instructions. Once warmed up and with lamps on, the room was more welcoming. The bed was very comfortable and we had a good nights sleep. Lovely toiletries provided! Enjoyable breakfast with lovely friendly staff.

We stayed here because we were attending a wedding g in Grantchester which was just up the road.The staff were exceptionally kind as they allowed us to check in early so we could change beforehand.The rooms were very clean and comfortable.They are separate from the pub which was a bonus.Breakfast was excellent.

The Lord Byron is very pleasant. Has all the basic amenities and features you need for a 1 night stop. Cambridge Centre is a short bus ride or taxi journey away. It's not pretending to be something it's not. It's just a down to earth stop over.

Had a lovely stay at Lord Byron Inn. Basic but had everything you needed. Staff were very friendly, and had a great veggie breakfast to start the day. Excellent location, not far from centre of Cambridge at all. Peaceful area. Would stay again.

If you are going to take a trip to Cambridge and want an overnight stay this place is good it was a very old pub with chalet type rooms in a nice garden area, yes the room was basic but we had a massive bed that was so comfy, we thought the pub could do with some tlc but the food was fantastic we will go back any time we are heading to Cambridge for an overnight trip thanks.

We chose this hotel for its location and its parking. We were able to walk into the City Centre do our sightseeing and walk home.

Although arriving early I was able to check-in with no difficulty. The accommodation was clean and tidy and although basic, did provide all that was needed particularly in light of the price paid. When my wife joined me we enjoyed a drink in the garden (and the beer was excellent). Moved to the bar for Dinner which was well cooked with generous portions. We also enjoyed a good Breakfast.All staff we encountered were friendly with a ready smile and our brief stay was very enjoyable.

The room was fine but we should have booked an accessible room as the shower was not suitable for a person in their mid eighties.Breakfast was lovely and you should try to book Sunday lunch if possible.It was fantastic.

I think Lord Inn is a good little place to stay for a few nights the food was nice and the drinks are good. Thay supplied coffee teas and hot chocolate and theres cups to make your drinks in the room what you are staying, there's a smart TV and ac what was good as well there's plug sockets.

Easy access from the M11 and on a quiet road. Very friendly staff and a great beer garden. The food was very good including the breakfast. Stayed with my 7 year old son and couldn’t fault it.

Every single staff member was friendly, welcoming and still efficient. The freshly-prepared food both in the evening and at breakfast was really delicious and everything is offered with generosity and a smile. The lady owner is also the chef and we could see when we met her how the atmosphere is so happy.Rooms clean, comfy beds - the appearance is basic but the shower was hot, plenty of tea & coffee and the up-to-date tv had access to Apps such as Netflix.

This is our second stay here and will def return again.Mainly stayed here to attend the Corn exchange for a concert both times but looking forward to returning. Welcome was lovely, checking I was easy, rooms are just at the side of the pub and are so comfortable and warm. We stayed in number 8 this timeand seemed slightly bigger than number 7 before, the bed was huge and so comfortable.Has tea and coffeefacility in the room. Breakfast was included in the price and was delicious. We had a meal the evening too and that was good portions and tasty too. We got an Uber into the town for our show with no problem and only 10 mins.We used the park and ride which is only up the road to go to the city centre for shopping again this was an easy process.There’s not anything I can say was not right with our stay. Very happy

I booked the Lord Byron as a one night stop to be near the local hospital,From the first contact , the staff were very kind and the whole atmosphere of the pub was relaxed .Rooms were basic , but incredibly clean and warm , with a comfy bed and good TV channels .The lunch and evening meals were very good ,Vast choices on the menu .Breakfast was very clean and more than enough.Once again the morning ladies were so nice and helpful.Will be staying again in the near futureIf I have any reservations it’s the way the outside of the pub looks on first arrival .. . A little scruffy !However don’t be put off , it’s a friendly nice place .

I had booked on booking.com for 2 days, leaving on Sunday, and the stay was OK. I decided I wanted to stay 2 days more, checked booking.com and saw the price for 2 days more (154 GBP with my genius status & booking from the mobile phone - I have screenshots). I told the ladies that were present on Sunday morning that, if the price was the same as I got on booking.com, I'd rather book direct so that you didn't pay commission (it even suggests so in your feedback mail: "Please remember to book direct with us for best prices"). They checked availability and said it would be OK, so I went out for the day. When I came back on Sunday evening (+-21:00) I saw the invoice for 171 GBP (same price I had paid during the weekend). I explained the story to the girl in reception and she called the responsible person (a young man). He refused to listen, was very rude, challenged me to find the price on booking.com (booking showed no availability at all for that night - although availability for Mon to Tuesday showed 77 GBP - I also have a screenshot) and told me angrily that I wouldn't find anything cheaper in Cambridge. I told the man that I didn't like that attitude (I had booked direct so that you avoided commission, not for me to pay more that through booking.com) and was very disappointed. I then decided to stay only 1 night (he didn't like it and angrily tore the paper from the girl in reception). I paid for the night (85.5 GBP) without saying anything else and left on Monday morning as I didn't want to spend one more pound in your business ever. It was not a money question. It was a customer service issue. NEVER AGAIN in your establishment.

We always like to stay in a place with character. We weren't disappointed. The staff are extremely friendly and knowledgable on the local area.The food and drink are excellent and the included breakfast is well worth it.The rooms are comfortable and well equipped. They are situated in a separate modern block so there is no noise from the pub later in the evening.The inn is located close to the park and ride bus service directly to the centre of Cambridge.

I was in room no 1, a twin and my first time in this room, its the 5th time i have stayed at the inn and the room was very comfortable and warm and i liked the well stocked hot drinks and biscuits tray. Breakfast was good as always so i look forward to my next visit.

Stayed one night. Close to Papworth hospital if you have a early appointment. The room was very clean and tidy with every thing you need.The staff were great very polite and went out of there way to help us, even supplying us with sandwiches because we left too early for a full breakfast.

Used this inn again as I had to go into the Nuffield Hospital just up the road, so very convenient.The room was very clean and comfortable, warm.Tv, tea/coffee/biscuits tray, toiletries in en-suite.Rooms are in a separate building to the inn, so very quiet, and with your own front door.When we stayed last time, the evening meal was most enjoyable.However, this time we were there on a Sunday night and the kitchen closed at 5.00 pm. This wasn’t a big problem as there were two restaurants nearby open on a Sunday evening.Reasonable rate per night and can definitely recommend.

Good location for all that Cambridge has to offer. Can walk to many of the sights from here, should the inclination take you. Alternatively Trumpington Park and Ride is close by. There is a car park at the pub. Rooms are clean and offer enough services to make your stay comfortable. Staff in the pub are friendly and accommodating. In particular we enjoyed our breakfast. I've stayed before and I'll come again.

We chose the Lord Byron because of its proximity to Royal Papworth Hospital where my husband had a very early appointment. We were very happy with every aspect of the accommodation and service. A very warm welcome on arrival and a lovely warm clean room with good sized TV with Netflix etc. Some reviews say rooms are dated ours certainly wasn't in fact everything seemed new. We nearly skipped breakfast as we had to leave early but as staff were so friendly and efficient we managed cooked breakfast which was excellent.Staff were so helpful with directions to hospital too.... well done we will be back and will book for evening meal as looked very nice too

The Lord Byron staff were so helpful. They provided a private room for myfamily to eat in after family funeral. Nothing was too much trouble and all done with genuine friendliness and warmth. Room was perfect for our needs. Warm on arrival. Lovely shower. Clean and tidy. My parents unexpectedly needed a room late at night as their accommodation fell through but pub staff kindly accommodated them. Great pub food, huge portions and quality cooking. Good breakfast. This place is actually a little gem, we stayed for two nights for a weekend in Cambridge and we were pleasantly surprised, the rooms were clean and tidy, comfortable beds, and the staff took real care in making sure the room was warm and welcoming, plenty of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and toiletries, the housekeeping staff really went the extra mile. We ate in the restaurant both nights and had breakfast, the food is really good, fresh, well cooked and the staff are exceptional, hard working, pleasant and friendly, would definitely stay again. We chose the Lord Byron to be near to Addenbrookes Hospital where my wife had an operation.The hotel is comfortable and welcoming with very adequate rooms. The food was good , a good menu, and at reasonable prices.All was served throughout with by friendly staff who went the extra mile to make us comfortable.We will return!

We stayed at The Lord Byron for two nights at the end of November. It's a lovely old pub, full of character, with a roaring open fire. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the both the evening meals and breakfasts were excellent. One of the best burgers I've ever had!The accommodation is separate from the pub ( which means you don't have to walk through the pub to get to your room and can come and go as you please). The room was warm and clean - the bed was so comfortable! There is plenty of parking room and the buses run regularly into the city.WE will definitely return to The Lord Byron in the summer, when we look forward to some long walks through nearby Granchester.

Found The Lord Byron by chance when looking fir a couple of nights stay in Cambridge but not wanting to stay in central Cambridge.. chalets separate from pub, and very clean, bed was comfortable, and quiet.. place to park the car as we didn’t need it because we used the park and ride into Cambridge which is a 5min walk away.. we decided to eat in the Lord byron pub - and the food was cooked from raw ingredients and tasted totally amazing, but equally there’s a Waitrose in walking distance or a fish n chip shop ..

The title says it all. No issues.

I had a very pleasant stay. Very nice atmosphere. It's an old building but if you mind the various steps and if you are a little longer also mind the low ceiling and beams you will have a wonderful time.

We chose the Lord Byron because of its proximity to the church we were going to for a wedding and was glad we did.Our room was ready for us when we arrived and we were made to feel very welcomed.The Lord Byron is a lovely pub and the rooms are separate from the main building.Whilst basic they have everything you need and even had Netflix on the TV.Beds were great and the breakfast excellent. We also had a sandwich on arrival and everything was always freshly made.I would stay here again in an instant and if ever back in Cambridge would chose to. Just had an overnight stay at The Lord Byron.Room was spacious and comfortable, although the twin beds were next to each other.Bathroom was very spacious and clean.Nice powerful shower.Had a meal and drinks on our arrival,which I have to say were very good, although a little bit pricey.I had a chicken pie and my friend had a steak pie, both came with mustard mash potatoes, carrots and broccoli spears.The breakfast in the morning was very good.

Lovely friendly stop over. We needed somewhere close to the town for a days shopping and this was the perfect place; friendly, very comfortable room with large Tv and quiet, great breakfast and on the bus route for a very quick hop in to town. Would recommend and will be booking again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Lord Byron.Perfectly positioned, within walking distance through beautiful countryside to Cambridge.Staff were very friendly and helpful, food was excellent and hot. A very enjoyable stay, would stay again if visiting the area.

Cosy, comfortable accommodation with characterful pub area with warm fire and good food. Pity the wi fi was intermittent. The staff helped with this as much as they could and were helpful and friendly throughout.

A friend was having a birthday do at the Orchard Tea Rooms in Grantchester and we live in Sussex so needed to find somewhere to stay that would be walking distance of her party. The Lord Byron turned out to be an excellent choice. We were given lots of helpful information before we arrived and had a very tasty lunch once we did before getting changed and setting off for the party. Our room had everything we needed and was quiet and comfortable. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. All topped off by a great breakfast in the morning- thank you!

arrived at the Lord Byron , place fine booking in easy access to room easy as disabled and use mobility scooter access to room covered room totally adequate very comfortable bed best nights sleep for long time , wife said the same breakfast was huge , plenty coffee and tea.Evening meal the same minus coffee and tea could not eat breakfast too full from night before, would definitely stay again but with disabled facility , wonderful stay for 2 days looking around Cambridge

We booked a quick overnight as we were attending a concert at the Corn Exchange. Easy to find. Ample parking. The check in process was quick and efficient. and the en-suite room was spacious, clean and had everything you would expect. The included breakfast the following morning was excellent. Overall a well deserved 5 stars for the rate we paid. Well done “The Lord Byron Inn”!

We stayed for one night for my sons graduation.Very clean and comfy room with hair dryer, huge bed, and ,large tv.All shampoo ,shower gel and soap provided with tea and coffee also in the room.Staff are very friendly and the food in the pub was very nice with a nice selection.Plenty to offer for Breakfast also.Would highly recommend if you don’t want to pay hotel prices in the city.Park and ride very close by or 5 mins in the car to centre of Cambridge.We would definitely stay again.

Nice looking old pub, easy check in, pretty garden with rooms in annex. I like a chalet style room and I like a door that opens onto fresh air so this suited me. Room had everything I needed, kettle, good tv, heater, nice bathroom and clean and decorated well. I had dinner in the cosy pub, carefully made good quality food which is why it is a little pricey. Lots of local ales too. My night was quiet and safe and enjoyed a lovely vegetarian breakfast. Easy parking and close to Grantchester.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome.Receptionist, bar staff and morning waitress were cheerful, helpful, and friendly.Beer and food very good.Rooms may be basic and functional but were spotlessly clean.Easy access to the town centre on the Park and Ride bus from the bus stop on the main road.Will stay again when we next visit Cambridge.

Early appointment at Papworth Hospital,so decided to book a nights accommodation .The Lord Byron Inn was ideal.Around a 5 minute drive to the hospital.Comfortable room and bed.We had supper there also,which was very good.In the morning,the breakfast was delicious.Would really recommend.

This is a fabulous location if visiting Cambridge, the IWM Duxford or even Grantchester if you are a fan of the TV show.Within easy walking distance of the Cambridge park and ride (£3 return) it’s easy to get into the city. Rooms are basic but clean with excellent Wi-fi, shower and TVs.The breakfast would benefit from a little more variety but is cooked well.Helpful friendly staff.

We booked this hotel as a last minute decision and can say the staff were very welcoming and attentive. The rooms were large, clean and comfortable but the most appealing was how good the food was... home made (not home cooked - there's a big difference); great menu, wonderful quality and reasonably priced in a wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommend this gem!

Very welcoming staff. Don't be put off by the exterior. The accommodation was fresh clean and comfortable.The breakfast was absolutely delicious and well presented.

Arrived at site and had problems entering our accommodation as lock was stiff. Staff were very helpful and problem solved. Room was dated and bathroom could do with an update however bedding was clean and room was clean. Bath towels need to be bigger. No WIFI in room as site had a problem with the router so not great as only found out once we were in bed. No signal using phone data so very poor. Breakfast was excellent as was the variety and service. Such a good location as round the corner from main road so was able to catch the park and ride into the city centre. Grantchester round the corner was a lovely village to visit and lots to see and do. Will definitely return despite the few issues.

Stayed for one night and found it very clean and comfortable. We travelled for a wedding and other members of the family travelled next day so they were very obliging and let us have the room for extra 1 1/2 hours so they could get changed.The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was very good

We stayed one night as I had an appointment at Addenbrookes & it was too far from home in Brighton to travel up and back in a day.The room was clean, quiet and comfortable.We had a couple of drinks and a meal in the bar which were good. We also had breakfast in the morning which was great.The one thing which really stood out were the staff we came into contact with. They were very efficient and had a friendly manner.Would stay again.

Arrived early but were able to leave our car and go into Cambridge on the bus which was a bonus. Returned about 6pm check in was easy staff very efficient. We had room 5 the bed was very comfortable and bathroom a reasonable size. Good shower plenty of hot water and good pressure. We are in the pub both evenings especially enjoyed the fish and chips. Home to Turpin beers. Has a good sized garden with play area for kids. Full English breakfast included in the price. This was our second visit and hope to return again soon.

an excellent place to stay which we would recommend to anyone. The breakfasts were very tasty and the Staff very friendly and efficient.

The room was light and spacious with very comfortable bed. The view is of the green pub garden. The shower was big, with lovely toiletries. Cooked Breakfast was really good, and being able to sit in the sunny alcoves is a plus. The rooms are in a separate newer block to the older and decoratively slightly tired but CAMRA award winning pub.

Excellent location, within walking distance of Grantchester & close to Park & Ride giving speedy access into Cambridge. Would have given 5 stars without hesitation if there had been a second bedside table & light.

Great stay and good location

Basic, but comfortable and clean chalet style room. Spacious with all facilities you would require, Quiet location not too far from city centre and with good transport into town.Pub separate. but on doorstep so to speak.Lovely, welcoming, helpful staff; good food and drink with a good choice decent breakfast included. Well worth the money. Only minor drawback was difficulty in adjusting hot and cold water knob for shower - slightest turn either way and it was far too hot or too cold.(Room 7).

A great location for a sightseeing trip. A nice stroll into Cambridge. Room basic but clean with fresh towels daily. The Inn itself is very old, which gives it charm. Lovely beer garden.

Dick Turpin himself would have enjoyed the pint of homemade dark stout I enjoyed in this paragon of public houses. Just a short gallop from Cambridge's old stone spires and busy streets. But a quiet retreat for a nights sleep in modern comfort in rooms in the back family garden. Thank you.

What a lovely room we had, newly decorated with tea making facility, hair dryer. Toiletries ect. The staff were very generous and friendly, brilliant breakfast, no fat really tasty. Like to thank Michael and the kitchen staff in the morning were wonderful no trouble ordering what you wanted. And like to thank the little lass who worked and lived on the premises, would recommend anyone staying at this quaint old pub in the heart of Cambridgeshire

Had a really good evening at the Lord Byron , really good food inc great breakfast and a brewery thrown in , especially handy for Hospital, wouldn’t hesitate to return and the staff were really friendly.

As previous reviews have stated the breakfast is superb, however the sama cannot be said for the front of the building which has been repainted dark blue. it now looks totally different from the appealing phtos portrayed.Rooms were adequate if a little tired, very handy for Cambridge itself.

Just perfect, a simple, proper traditional pub with a warm welcome.Motel style rooms next to the beer garden, perfect for exploring Cambridge. Park and ride near by and great for Grantchester meadows and river swimming.First class breakfast too, we'll be back.

The rooms here are a great size, very clean, have a large TV, bathroom and their own air con. The staff were very friendly and helpful and they served a great breakfast in the morning. I would highly recommend.

Accommodation was much more than we expected. Had a great time, food excellent, room very comfortable, a short walk into Cambridge. Also have there own micro brewery, what more does one want..

Ideal for our one night stay for our group of four which included an elderly lady in a wheelchair. Disabled access for a wheelchair to the bedroom and also to the breakfast room excellent. Rooms had everything we needed. Comfortable beds. Everything very clean. Just one small lack of communication, as although acknowledged by the hotel, our request for earlier access to at least one room to change for a wedding did not reach housekeeping. Also the promise of a breakfast table on the level area in the bar was not forthcoming, as the only table there was taken when we arrived, so we had to get my mum out of the wheelchair and down a step to seat her. Breakfast was excellent. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

I had a nice 1 night stay at the Lord Byron the staff were very helpful and friendly throughout stay.the rooms are small and basic but very clean and looks as though it had been freshly decorated.I'm only dropping one star as there was what looked like dry blood on the duvet cover it may have been washed and not come but its not something I and I assume the owner would not like to if they were staying somewhere.AS it was found late and we were only staying one night we didn't complain at the time.That said it wouldn't put me off staying there again if I was travelling that way again.

Very handily placed for Cambridge city centre or Duxford aircraft museum which is very close by.The host/staff were all very friendly and helpful.Our room in chalet was clean and tidy and a large tv was very welcome. The shower was very powerful and the bathroom nice and clean. Minus point for the beds which were very firm but I realise that whether that is good or bad is personal choice. However what seemed like a double duvet stuffedin a single cover was poor and spoilt the otherwise nice room. The room also lacked storage for clothing if you are staying for longer than a night. The pub itself looked like it has recently been decorated but could still benefit from a bit more work. In all I'd give a 7/10 but with a few little touches that could have been higher.

We would choose to stay at the Lord Byron Inn again. It is wonderfully located in Trumpington, near Trumpington Meadow, surprisingly quiet and peaceful. Our room had twin beds, a table, two chairs, TV and an en suite bathroom. Basic but perfectly fine. The rooms overlook a beautiful courtyard garden. Breakfast and dinner were superbly cooked and of very generous portions.

It was two amazing nights.The hotel is small but very cute and with a large garden.The room is clean and tidy.The staff are helpful, polite and very kind.The food is very very tasty especially home made fries.The city center can be reached in about 10 minutes by bus.I highly recommend this hotel.

We’ve stayed several times and always found staff to be very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast very nice. A fan in the room would be a good addition when the weather is hot as we stayed on the hottest 2 days of the year.

I had such a nice stay at the lord byron inn and the thing that I liked the most was the dinner and the breakfast because they were really nice and also the staff were really nice and friendly.

Despite the Covid situation, the staff and owner couldn't have been more helpful to us during our 3 night stay.Excellent evening meals (fab chips) and well cooked breakfasts. A couple of glitches in the room (they had, after all, been closed for 3 months) were quickly attended to by the owner.Good comfy beds made for sound sleep.

A very attractive place with lovely staff.Unfortunately I didn’t like the heating system in the room as it was very noisy as were the neighbours!The food was fine apart from the fact that it was cold being on cold plates!

Staid one night for a hospital appointment at royal papworth,room was fine the only issue was we had to miss breakfast as my appointment was for 8am and they didn't open restaurant till 7.30am.

We have stayed here 3 or 4 times now and have always found our rooms to be very clean and comfortable with everything we need. The staff have always been very friendly and helpful. The food when we’ve eaten has always been good also. We will be returning again.

We had a one night stay in February 2020 and would certainly return on a future trip to Cambridge. The location is easy to get a bus into the city, there is ample free parking and the room that we had was nicely decorated, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was really good too. The room also had an air conditioning unit although we didn't need it in February.We received a friendly welcome when we arrived. All in all, excellent.

Very comfy bed, better than a lot of more expensive hotels we have stayed in. Very good breakfast included as well. Rooms were in individual chalets so you have your own front door. No slamming of doors all night like we experience in a lot of hotels.

Accommodation is very well situated for visiting Cambridge. Park & Ride is a short walk away although last bus back on a Saturday night is a rather early 8:30 pm.The staff were friendly and helpful.The room was a little ‘tired’ (particularly the bathroom) but this is reflected in the reasonable price.Would stay there again.

Second visit here, had a 2 night stay here same time last year and as last year very pleased with the room and the breakfast. Will be back to do the same in 2021!

A very convenient place to stay overnight ready for our appointment at Papworth hospital the next morning. A few minutes drive from the park and ride, with frequent buses into Cambridge. A lovely welcome, comfortable room and tasty evening meal.

We were visiting relatives in the area and the situation of the Hotel was perfect.It is a short distance from the park and ride and getting into Cambridge was totally stress free.We had a friendly welcome and our room was very clean, the bed comfortable and had everything we could have needed.We would definitely stay here again.

Excellant accommodation for the price In Cambridge very friendly staff and a very good hot Full English Breakfast,Food in the evening was also very good however the only thing i could pick fault with was the seating in the pub while eating evening meal the chairs were very old and very uncomfortable and desperately need replacing.

I stayed here whilst my husband had an operation at the Hospital. The room was really comfortable and spotlessly clean with nice toiletries and plenty of tea/coffee. Breakfast was just right - full English plus extra like toast and yoghurts. I ate in the Bar both evenings and the food was nice and fresh and the environment welcoming. The staff were all very friendly. Just right for me - the location is excellent and free parking on site a big bonus in Cambridge, with the bus route very close as well.

I stayed at the Lord Byron Inn for several days over a 3 week period. I chose the Lord Byron because of its closeness to the hospitals and it was perfect. The owners are kind,considerate and caring. The accommodation was perfect for my needs and they could not do enough for me. My sincere and everlasting thanks to Diane and Markus.

Hi. We only stayed one night but Michael couldn't have been more helpful and courteous. Room was great especially the master bedroom which was roomy and comfortable. For you to be aware, both the shower rail and the towel rail in rather bathroom were loose and coming away from the wall. Theach shower in particular needs attention as I was unable to raise the shower head and had to stoop under it while showerI get.One other small thing, outside the front door was a flower pot full cigarette butt's which was a bit off putting. We enjoyed our stay overall.

I've stayed here a few times as it is a very reasonably priced place in Cambridge, but the food is very good and the owners own range of ales are top notch.My only grumble was there was none of their pies for dinner, albeit the beef stew was banging.

Stayed in room 4. Good King size bed, lovely hot shower easy to get into. Wifi worked well.Hot/cold breakfast added bonus.No fridge which could be a bonus.Towels need to be bigger and thicker.Staff very helpful which was much appreciated.

We regularly stay here when we are dropping off our son at the University. The location is convenient to the city centre (you can catch a bus into the city). The rooms are away from the pub in the annexe. The room has large beds which are comfortable. The bathroom is fine - the floor can get quite wet from a shower. The Lord Byron do a good cooked breakfast in the morning and the staff are very helpful.
